textile designer and teacher
I have always loved designing and making, inspiration coming in so many shapes and forms since those childhood craft kits and asking my Mum and Nan to teach me to sew and knit.
For the last 10 years patchwork and quilting have been a major part of my life and any time spent designing or sewing is a pleasure. Patchwork and quilting lets me constantly evolve with inspiration and challenges in complex design (including EQ), fabric choice (shopping!), fabric dyeing, techniques and tools. Though the odd side step into knitting, bead jewellery, cross stitch, stained and tiffany glass, felting, cyanotyping on fabric or crochet is always fun!
I have completed the City and Guilds in Patchwork and Quilting, taught by Lynne Quinn in Bristol. For a broader understanding of Design, I completed the Diploma in Design and Innovation (2006) with the Open University.
There are some wonderful quilting groups around Bristol and I am pleased to belong to Brockeridge Quilters, Clifton Quilters and Emerson's Green Quilters.
Recently, I have started sharing some of the projects I have designed and the skills I have enjoyed learning through teaching... which brings us to this website....
