Talks,  Workshops and Courses

I am focussing on teaching the Beginners and Intermediate Patchwork and Quilting Classes at Downend Folk Centre at the moment. See the home page for more details or contact me via the contact page.

If groups approach for a talk, demonstration or workshop I do my best to fit it in.

My latest talk is  called "Taking Shape“-

A talk about my discovery of form and how we can add form to fabric.  My samples include window hangings, bowls, bags and linings for bags, jewellery, bunting, buttons and wreaths.  I cover the stiffeners I use, everything from iron-on interfacing to pelmet Vilene.  This seems to have become my latest obsession without me realising! I would have sworn I was not into 3D but I guess we all develop.

Demonstration / mini talk on transfer foils, which are great fun and really cheap to try.

Talk on felting jumpers etc and using the felt which can come with a mini workshop (2 hrs) on making felt brooches.

Mini workshop (2 hrs) to make hand sewn insect bag charms including felt, fabric and embellishments
